Program

Oct 11-18: 

Registrations are open for the invited restaurants to participate in the competition.

The restaurants are invited by the Dubai Restaurants Group and the Italian Business Council Dubai.

Oct 19 – Nov 3: 

The chefs of the participating restaurants shoot a video of the preparation of their risotto dish and send it to the Emirates Culinary Guild to be uploaded to their YouTube channel:

Voting takes place on YouTube by the general public and by 3 Chefs of the Emirates Culinary Guild. The vote of the Chefs will count for the 70% of the final result and the vote of the public for the remaining 30%. 

Nov 18: 

Announcement of 2 finalists for the Classic Risotto Category and 2 finalists for the Innovative Risotto Category.

Nov 25:

The Finals

From 12:00 to 4:00 p.m. the members of the jury visit together each participating restaurant to taste the risotto and give their votes.

The customers of the day enjoy a taste of the special Risotto.

The winners are announced at the end of the afternoon.

  • Mr. Massimo Falcioni, Vicepresident of the Italian Business Council.
  • Ms. Donna Benton, Founder and CEO of The Benton Group.
  • Chef Uwe Micheel, President of The Emirates Culinary Guild.
  • Chef Michael Kitts, Director of Culinary Arts of The Emirates Academy of Hospitality Management.
  • Naheem Maadad, President of Dubai Restaurants Group.
Rules
  1. The video must be horizontal and taken in high resolution. Vertical videos will not be accepted.
  2. The video must show the chef’s face.
  3. The videos submitted should not have background music.
  4. The length of the video should be between 5 to 10 minutes.
  5. Videos not complying with these guidelines will not be accepted.
  6. The quality of the video will be taken into account in the assessment.
  7. The recipe should be submitted together with the video to the Emirates Culinary Guild:  emiratesculinaryguild@gmail.com
